Clinic for Sexual and Reproductive Mental and Emotional Health

Clinic for Sexual and Reproductive Mental and Emotional Health

Confidential. Empowering. Transformative

Have you ever felt that your sexual or reproductive experiences take an unreasonable amount of your energy? That you either have a need to talk about it and cannot find space, or that your experience creates discomfort in others? You’re not alone.

Reproduction and sexuality are surrounded by taboos and stigma in all cultures. The controversial nature is closely linked to broader issues of gender equality, social, cultural, and religious norms. In patriarchal societies, acknowledging and celebrating reproductive and sexual diversity that goes beyond what is considered the norm can lead to discomfort, loss of control, and threaten traditional power structures

Whether said or unsaid, societal norms can inflict isolation, shame, and a sense of not belonging on individuals who challenge the norms. It can be age appropriate intimacy education for adolescents, women making reproductive choices on their own, or people with diverse non-normative gender identities or sexual desires. This can have a negative impact on physical, mental and emotional health and well being.

Sexual and reproductive mental and emotional counselling aims to improve psychological and emotional well-being related to an individual’s sexual and reproductive experiences, decisions, and relationships.

In my practice, I primarily specialise in sexual and reproductive mental and emotional health and well being for persons born as female or identifying as female and counselling services are provided in a safe, respectful and confidential environment.

Midwife B.A
Social Psychologist, MSc

Certified Sexologist

My entire career I have been working with sexual and reproductive health and rights. I am an activist, a feminist, and have strong belief in the power of sisterhood.

I am a proud midwife by profession, with postgraduate degrees in social psychology and clinical sexology. My passion for sexual and reproductive mental and emotional health stems from professional and personal experiences with women from all phases of sexual and reproductive life. In the past decade I have been focusing on care for survivors of intimate partner abuse and sexual violence, and in recent years I have specialised in female sexual dysfunction and wellbeing.

My clinical background and experience is an important tool in understanding the complexities of female sexuality and reproduction and enables me to provide mental and emotional counselling holistically.

I strive to be professional, present, compassionate and have a special gift for talking about sexual and reproductive challenges and issues that can be hard to talk about.

I look forward to seeing you.
